Born in Malawi, Africa, to Indian parents, I grew up in England and I now live with my family in Vienna, Austria. I have drawn and painted for as long as I can remember, with a pause while I studied finance at university. My love of art was rekindled by an opportunity to study at the renowned Charles H. Cecil studios in Florence, Italy. This pivotal experience ultimately led me to leave a career in finance to pursue my passion for painting.
I now spend my studio time drawing, painting and creating art for various markets and companies including Minted, Artfully Walls, Hallmark, Marks & Spencer, Anthropologie and Samsung.
I also enjoy teaching small groups in my studio. In the past, collaborating with florists, I led floral painting workshops in Italy and USA. I hope to offer more of these in person workshops as it is always pleasure to paint alongside other flower enthusiasts.
Infinitely inspired by nature, I my signature abstract florals embrace the power of colour, a free spirit and the beauty of imperfection.
For the past few years, I have happily spent most of my painting time in the company of flowers. Readily accessible and intrinsically beautiful, their myriad of forms and colours keep me endlessly fascinated. I am captivated by their fleeting beauty - a poignant reminder that nothing lasts forever. I enjoy using a mix of materials, primarily acrylic paint, ink, crayons and pencil; building up layers of colour daubs, brushstrokes and scribbles which eventually come together to emerge from the chaos as flowers and foliage. It still feels a little magical every single time.
