Artist Bio

Jaxtheartist was born in Pretoria, South Africa in 1971. She has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Witwatersrand, a Master Practitioner Certification in Neuro Linguistic Programming and certification in Resonance Repatterning. After many years in the corporate world, she went on to become an inspirational guide and energy healer before deciding to invest her time and energy in exploring her identity as an artist.

Throughout her career, supporting people in aligning with their spiritual purpose and making their impossible dreams possible, her creative art process has served as a transformational avenue of exploration, play, and expression of her own personal experiences and insights and perspectives on trauma, meta-physics, healing, and spiritual awakening.

Over the years, she has experimented with a variety of art media, including oils, acrylics, pencil drawings, pastels, greytone chalk and ink. Each piece initiates as a seed from her soul, an inspiration, vision, image, or feeling or knowing that engages her consciousness and she plays with to bring into form.

Her artworks reflect her spiritual journey and personal development, capturing different periods and experiences in full colour, providing her with insight into what part of herself she is getting to know, understand, heal, and integrate into the ultimate artwork—the creation of who she is and who she is becoming with each new creation.

Her body of work is varied and diverse, from the freedom of scribblings and experimentation with colour mixing, abstract forms, exploring textures and the borders of her own imagination, evolving to more carefully, painstakingly measured, scaled, shaded, and executed structured pieces of bringing to life an inspiring photograph or image that captivates her and requires attention to detail and focused concentration to bring it to life.

She is inspired by her connection with her spiritual light and recognises that her artwork offers an opportunity for viewers to connect, reflect, awaken, be inspired, and heal an aspect of themselves on their own spiritual journey.

The evocative pieces are intended to catalyse amongst the viewers a sharing of personal individual experience, bringing new insights and awareness, understanding, and healing.

As an artist, I embark on a journey of self-discovery and spiritual awakening, guided by the profound experiences and insights I've gained throughout my life. Born in Pretoria, South Africa, my path has been shaped by diverse influences, from my academic pursuits at the University of Witwatersrand to my professional endeavors in the corporate world, and ultimately, to my roles as an inspirational guide and energy healer. Each phase has contributed to the rich tapestry of my artistic identity.

My creative process is deeply intertwined with my personal growth and healing journey. Through various media—oils, acrylics, pencil drawings, chalk, and pastels—I explore themes of trauma, metaphysics, healing, and spiritual transformation. Each piece begins as a seed from my soul, a vision or feeling that beckons me to bring it into form. My artworks serve as a mirror, reflecting different periods of my life, offering insights into the parts of myself I am getting to know, heal, and integrate. They document my evolving understanding of who I am and who I am becoming.

In my art, I strive to capture the harmony between the material and the spiritual, the seen and the unseen. The vibrant colours, intricate textures, and abstract forms in my work symbolise the dynamic interplay between light and shadow within the human soul.
