Visual balm guaranteed to soothe the soul
Visual balm guaranteed to soothe the soul
Sabina Puppo grew up amongst artists and is herself the 7th generation of artists in her family. Her artwork has hints of a modern primitive or contemporary folk style, and the freedom of an intuitive self-taught artist. The lines she deliberately traces on the oil of her paintings create a personal language and imagery which makes her style easily recognizable. Her themes are based in nature where rolling hills splashed with vineyards and olive groves, seas with playful waves, majestic trees with extensive roots, and intimate underland transport the viewer to idyllic and peaceful settings. Her work has been exhibited in the United States, Uruguay, Brazil and Bulgaria. Her paintings are in private collections in every continent.
I take my role as an artist with delight. I have endless amounts of fun and find fulfillment when working in my studio. Whenever I experience feelings of awe in my life, I need to find a way to portray them in my art. My way of painting and drawing on the oil allow me to create a language and rhythm filled with textured colors, playful lines, moving patterns, curious inhabitants all within majestic landscapes. My paintings capture the natural world in connection with human relationships full of love, mundane activities that warm the heart, and the encouragement to slow down, be light, and notice the present. I prefer to be an usher of good news in this confusing world of ours, and find that color and images have immense power to restore and lift the spirit. My intent is to offer through my art a message of tranquility, delight in Nature and realize the joy to be alive.
