Finnish artist Tiina Alanen paints acrylic and watercolor paintings, combining realistic and abstract elements, colors and layers. She likes to include stories and different emotions in her paintings. Originally a graphic designer by profession she has also done illustrators for magazines and designed book covers. Fine art has become her main passion and painting is part of her everyday life.
Capturing the light - real and symbolic - is essential to my art. Creating art is my
healing power and light. I would like to share that strength, the light of life and
hope with others. I love combining realistic and abstract elements, colors, and layers
in my paintings. I want them to be happy and full of hope and love.
I studied Graphic Design in Finland and a year in Dublin, Ireland. After graduating,
I worked in an Advertising Agency as a Graphic Designer and later I worked in my
own company while raising our children. Drawing, painting and photography
have always been a part of my life even on busy family days. A few years ago I
completed my studies in Visual Arts and I also have been teaching art.
I paint mainly with acrylic colors and also with watercolors. Many of my paintings
are inspired by nature. There is another reason why I paint and create art. I have experienced moments in my life when everything can change forever in the blink of an eye. In 2019, we lost one of our sons. He was 14 years old, full of life and joy, and with a
happy twinkle in his eyes. And then suddenly, due to a car accident, there was a day when an angel took him to Heaven. "Some bring so much light into the world that the light remains long after they are gone." That is what I would like to bring with my art - light.
