What does “home” mean to you?
Is it the walls that sheltered you as a child, the streets that shaped who you are, the voice of someone you love, or simply a feeling of belonging?
The Women in Arts Network is delighted to invite submissions for our latest International Virtual Exhibition, themed “The Places We Call Home.”
Home doesn’t have to be one fixed spot, it could be a tiny corner of the world, a city skyline, a familiar scent, or even a memory that lives only in your heart. This global exhibition calls on women-identifying and non-binary artists everywhere to share their interpretation of what “home” truly is.
Reflect on the spaces, feelings, and memories you call home, and turn them into art that inspires conversation and connection around the world. Whether you’re learning, growing, or already established, this platform is yours.
Home can mean so many things. For some, it’s a physical space a house filled with familiar objects, walls that echo with laughter, or the streets of a city that shaped who you are. For others, it’s something less tangible a feeling that lives deep inside you. It might be the comfort of a loved one’s voice, the smell of old books, the sound of rain tapping on the window, or a fleeting memory that stays with you long after you’ve left.
This open call invites you to pause and reflect on your own definition of home. Is it the warmth of belonging, the sweetness of nostalgia, the embrace of love or perhaps the ache of something lost or longed for?
Through painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, textiles, or any creative medium that speaks to you, we encourage you to bring these deeply personal reflections to life. Maybe your “home” is a childhood bedroom, a single photograph, a community that feels like family or maybe it’s an abstract mix of colours and textures that capture an emotion only you can describe.
Your vision, no matter how you express it, has the power to spark meaningful conversations and invite others to reflect on their own idea of “home
This opportunity is for every artist, from those just starting their creative journey to those already established.
