Love, Life & Everything She Creates

Virtual Exhibition + Artist’s Interview

Life, Love & Everything She Creates is a virtual exhibition by Women In Arts Network, created through an international open call for women artists. It brings together artists from different places, backgrounds, and creative practices, each responding to the theme in her own way.

The title leaves a lot of room. Life can be found in the everyday, in change, memory, relationships, work, family, nature, or the things we rarely speak about. Love can mean closeness, care, longing, friendship, loss, or simply a deep attachment to a person or place. And creation can come from any of these things, or from somewhere entirely unexpected.

The artists in the exhibition have taken that openness in different directions. Some works are closely connected to personal experience, while others explore nature, identity, culture, imagined spaces, or ideas that are difficult to put into words. Some are quiet and intimate; others are more expressive or expansive. There is no expected way for the theme to look.

That freedom is important to the project. The exhibition does not try to create one picture of what women experience or what women make. Instead, it gives each artist room to bring her own perspective, whether that comes through a story, an image, a material, a feeling, or simply a way of looking.

Alongside the virtual exhibition, Women In Arts Network also offers participating artists the opportunity to be featured in artist interviews. These conversations provide a closer look at their practices, influences, and creative journeys, allowing audiences to meet the person behind the work as well as the work itself.

Seen together, the works and interviews give a fuller sense of the people and practices behind the exhibition.

Exhibition Note

Most creative work carries more of a life behind it than we can see at first.

A painting may begin with a memory. A photograph may come from a place someone has known for years. A sculpture might grow out of a question that has stayed with its maker. Sometimes an artist knows exactly where a work began. Sometimes she only understands it once it is finished.

This is part of what makes Life, Love & Everything She Creates interesting.

The works gathered here do not offer one version of life, love, or creativity. They move between the personal and the imagined, the familiar and the unfamiliar. Some artists work with subjects close to their everyday lives, while others use abstraction, symbolism, or form to express what cannot be easily described.

There are also different ideas of love within the collection. It can be tender, complicated, joyful, remembered, or absent. Life can feel full and expansive in one work, and more uncertain in another. None of these experiences needs to stand in for the others.

The accompanying artist interviews add another dimension to the exhibition. Through their own words, artists share something of what happens before a work reaches the viewer: the influences, questions, experiments, and experiences that shape the process.

Perhaps the most fitting thing about this exhibition is that it does not attempt to define its title. It leaves the idea open, much like creative practice itself.

There is room here for what has been lived, what has been loved, what has been imagined, and everything that an artist chooses to make from it.
