What Home Looks Like: Artist Submissions So Far

“Home is not a place… it is the people, the memories, and the emotions we carry within us, wherever we go.”

Home , a word that feels simple on the surface, yet holds an endless depth of meaning. It is one of the most universal ideas we share, and yet it transforms with every life, every journey, every story. As we open this international exhibition, The Places We Call Home, we are deeply moved and inspired to see the ways artists across the world are engaging with this theme. With every passing day, submissions arrive from different corners of the globe from studios, bedrooms, kitchen tables, and even temporary workspaces carved out in the middle of busy lives. Each one carries its own pulse of truth, its own definition of belonging. Together, they are forming a vibrant chorus of voices that remind us of the infinite ways home can be seen, felt, and remembered.

We are excited more than excited; we are humbled to witness how expansive this idea has become in the hands of artists. Already, we see work that transforms the concept of home into layered portraits of memory, resilience, longing, and joy. Some depict the intimate quiet of a room that holds laughter and love. Others reveal the ache of distance, the home that can never be returned to, the home carried only in memory. With each passing minute, the exhibition grows more alive, not as a fixed display, but as a living archive that breathes with the stories of those who choose to share. And as it grows, so too does the realization that this project is more than an exhibition. It is a gathering, a remembering, a weaving together of what it means to belong.

Why This Theme Matters

Home has never been one thing. It is not a single definition we can all agree on, because it shifts with us, evolves with us, and speaks in ways unique to every person. For some, home is rooted in geography, a street where they once played as children, a kitchen infused with the aroma of family recipes passed down through generations, a garden where seasons marked the passage of years. These places become sacred because they hold traces of our becoming.

For others, home cannot be touched or pointed to on a map. It exists in something far more intangible. the voice of a loved one echoing across distance, the sensation of rain on warm earth that recalls a childhood monsoon, or a fleeting moment of recognition in the eyes of someone who makes us feel safe. For many, home is also shaped by absence: it may be a place left behind, a homeland remembered in stories and rituals, or a feeling that lives only in longing.

That is why this theme resonates so deeply. It invites artists to draw from memory, emotion, and imagination to present “home” not just as a physical structure, but as a story, a sensation, a truth. The exhibition does not seek one answer, but rather a constellation of perspectives that together reveal the vastness of what home can mean. Each submission, whether grand or small, personal or universal, becomes part of a global dialogue one that recognizes that while our homes differ, the desire to belong is something we all share.

What You’ll Be Part Of

By participating in this exhibition, you’ll be able to join a community of voices forming together a collective narrative of belonging. Your submission is more than an image on a screen it is an offering; a story carried into a space where it can be seen, felt, and honoured. Each work, no matter the medium, becomes a vital thread in this tapestry of perspectives, adding to the richness of the whole.

Selected artworks will be showcased in our international online gallery, accessible to curators, collectors, and art lovers worldwide. This space is more than a gallery it is a gathering place where audiences from across cultures and geographies can reflect on the meaning of home through your eyes. And for those who wish to go further, we offer an opportunity to be part of an exclusive interview feature, where your process, inspirations, and personal journey will be spotlighted. These interviews allow your audience to not only witness your work, but also understand the heartbeat behind it the memories, rituals, and reflections that gave it life.
