Every brushstroke, every word, every photograph, every instinctive mark you make leaves a trace of you in the world. But how often does your work get the chance to step out of your studio and be witnessed by people who truly understand the depth behind what you create?

This December, as the year comes to a close, the Women in Arts Network invites you to share that truth.

Submissions are officially open for Artist of the Month-December 2025, and we’re welcoming women artists who want to step into visibility, connection, and celebration as they close out the year.

Why December Is the Perfect Time to Be Seen

December is a month of reflection. A month of gathering your thoughts, honouring your creative growth, and acknowledging the steps you took big or small that brought you here.

It’s the moment to ask yourself:

• What did I create this year that I’m proud of?
• What risks did I take?
• Which pieces carry a part of my story that deserves to be seen?
• What do I want to step into next?

At WIAN, we know the creative life isn’t always linear. Some days are filled with clarity and flow. Others feel like heavy pauses. But every piece you make, every idea you follow, and every moment of courage in your practice becomes proof that your voice matters.

Being named Artist of the Month isn’t just recognition, it’s visibility.
It’s your work entering a larger conversation.
It’s your story reaching new eyes, new hearts, new opportunities.
It’s giving your art the audience it has always deserved.

Who We’re Looking For

December is for the brave, the new, the experienced, the experimental, for every woman artist ready to share her work with sincerity. Whether you’re a painter, sculptor, writer, photographer, textile artist, performer, or create in any medium that feels like home, there is space for you here.

You do not need awards or exhibitions to apply.
You just need your work, your truth, and the willingness to let someone else see it.

What You’ll Receive as December’s Artist of the Month

If selected, your work will be showcased across the WIAN platform, allowing your story to travel far beyond your studio walls. Your feature includes:

• A dedicated artist spotlight on the WIAN website
• A written introduction to your background and creative path
• A curated selection of your favourite works
• A personal interview where you can speak openly about your process, influences, and year-long artistic growth
• Visibility through WIAN’s social media channels, newsletter, and blog

It’s a way to let your art breathe beyond your own hands, to let it meet new eyes, spark new conversations, and open unexpected doors.

How to Submit

Submitting is simple and designed to help you focus on what matters most sharing your art.

• Complete the online submission form on the WIAN website.
• Choose at least three of your strongest works that best represent your practice.
• Include high-resolution images or short videos of each piece.
• Add a brief description or story behind every artwork to give insight into your process or inspiration.
• Provide a concise artist biography that highlights your background and creative path.
• Include an artist statement that reflects your journey, philosophy, and what drives your work.

As we look back on the year, we remember the artists who trusted their voices enough to share them. In previous months, we celebrated incredible women like Michelle leung, Cecelia Wilken, Ayesha Tariq, Trish Findlater, Lauryna Rakauskaitė, Elena Schertler and many more artists who opened their world to us with courage.

Their features led to new eyes on their work, new conversations, and meaningful opportunities. Your story could be next.
