Laura Serna is an emerging artist based in South Florida, USA. Painting for over a decade, her early work paid tribute to local landscapes, wildlife, and aquatic life, reflecting the natural environment of the region.
Working primarily in acrylic and watercolor, Serna’s recent practice explores elements of surrealism and impressionism to convey emotion, memory, and shared human experience.
Her subject matter ranges from culturally resonant scenes—such as soccer and automotive iconography—to more surreal works that capture fleeting feelings and psychological states. Across these varied themes, her work centers on ambition, connection, and the human drive to create and evolve.
Serna has collaborated with FuelFest, a global cultural automotive festival, and Luxury fashion brand LoveShackFancy.
Her work has been exhibited at the Cornell Museum of Art in Delray Beach FL, Aura Copeland Gallery in Miami, and Studio 1608 in West Palm Beach, Florida.
My work explores the intersection of memory, emotion, and imagination—how we experience the world not only as it is, but as it feels. Working primarily in acrylic and watercolor, I draw from both personal and shared experiences to create images that move between reality and wonder, often blending elements of surrealism and impressionism.
Growing up in Florida, my early paintings were rooted in the natural landscape and culture. Over time, My subject matter has shifted into culturally familiar scenes, such as soccer and automotives, to compositions on how feelings can be interpreted. These themes act as entry points into connection, and the human drive to create, evolve, and assign meaning.
Influenced by artists such as Frida Kahlo, Salvador Dalí, and Claude Monet, my work is about visualizing sensations, or appreciating the essence of a landscape or memorializing the aspirational
