The Beauty of Still Life: An Invitation to See Differently
Still life gives artists the freedom to find meaning in the things that surround them. A familiar object can become a memory, a symbol, a study of light and form, or a reflection of something deeply personal.
For The Beauty of Still Life, we are interested in the many ways artists interpret this timeless genre today.Your submission does not have to follow one style of illustration, concept, or standard idea of what a still life should look like. It can be realistic, contemporary, symbolic, abstract, experimental, or influenced by your personal artistic expression.
What matters is the perspective you bring to the theme.
The exhibition welcomes artists who find inspiration in flowers and natural elements, personal belongings, domestic objects, treasured collections, everyday surroundings, or objects carrying cultural and emotional meaning. Through different mediums and approaches, each artist can bring something entirely different to the same theme.

Artists can also submit up to three artworks, giving them the opportunity to present more than one interpretation or choose the work that best represents their relationship with the theme.

With only five days left, there is no need to overthink the submission.
Look through the work you have already created. Think about the pieces that explore objects, memory, nature, everyday life, symbolism, or quiet moments. Consider which works best to communicate your perspective.
You can submit up to three artworks for consideration, and every submission will be reviewed through a juried selection process.
The exhibition is open to women artists and non-binary artists aged 18 and above from anywhere in the world, making this an opportunity for artists across different backgrounds, locations, and stages of their careers.
Whether you are submitting to your first international virtual exhibition or adding another exhibition opportunity to an established practice, your work is welcome.
Who Can Apply?
The Beauty of Still Life is open to:
- Women artists aged 18 and above
- Non-binary artists aged 18 and above
- Artists from anywhere in the world
- Emerging, mid-career, and established artists
The exhibition welcomes artists working across a wide range of visual art mediums, including:
Painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, printmaking, illustration, digital art, mixed media, textile art, collage, and contemporary or experimental practices.
There is no requirement to approach still life in one particular style. Traditional compositions and contemporary interpretations are both welcome, as long as the submitted work reflects your own artistic perspective on the theme.
What Does the Submission Include?
Artists may submit up to three artworks for consideration.
The Virtual Exhibition application fee is $15 USD, which includes consideration through the juried selection process, professional online presentation of selected work, and a digital certificate of participation for selected artists.
Artists looking for more insight into their practice can choose to enter the optional Artist Interview Feature for an additional $19 USD. This brings the total to $34 USD for the Virtual Exhibition and Artist Interview Feature.
Selected artists who elect the interview option will be invited to discuss their creative process, inspirations, and the story behind their work in a separate feature published by Women in Arts Network.
Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee selection. All entries are reviewed through the juried selection process.
How to Apply
The application process is simple.
Choose up to three artworks that you feel connect meaningfully with The Beauty of Still Life, prepare your digital files, and complete the online application form with the requested information.
Submitted artwork files should be high-quality digital images in JPEG, PNG, or PDF format, at 300 DPI, with a maximum file size of 3 MB per artwork. Works must be original creations by the applicant, and artists must hold the rights to the submitted artwork and images.
Before submitting, take a moment to review your selected works and make sure your images represent them clearly and accurately.
Then, complete your application before the deadline.
