1. How would you describe your art style and what inspired you to become an artist?
My artistic vision is deeply rooted in the vibrant symbols, colors, and emotions of my home. Drawing inspiration from the fearless spirit of Mexican traditions such as ~Dia de los Muertos~ and the exquisite beauty of Talavera Poblana, I infuse my work with cultural richness and significance. Together, these elements create a unique and captivating blend that speaks to the heart and soul. In my creative process, I aim to capture the essence of still life by uniquely blending realism and stylization. I love infusing my art with soulful rhythms, patterns, colors, and emotions that speak to the heart and soul. Using different mediums like acrylics, watercolors, ink, and digital tools, I bring my vision to life in vibrant and expressive ways.

2. Can you tell us about a particular piece of art that holds special meaning for you?
“Azul Talavera” holds a sentimental and significant position in my heart and mind as the inaugural painting of the “My True Colors” collection. It took me a dedicated five months to complete, coinciding with the finalization of the entire collection. This artwork encapsulates my emotions and thoughts on reconnecting with my artistic expression, my evolution as a creative individual, and the essence of my true self. It serves as a poignant reflection of my journey back to my passion for art.
3. Can you describe a memorable experience or project that significantly impacted your career?
As a child, picking up a paintbrush was my go-to way to express myself and escape when I was feeling down. As an adult, personal life decisions took me far from home, but painting always brought me back to the center. Eventually, I decided to turn this passion into my profession. However, in 2020, a major life event shifted my focus away from art. That same year, I welcomed my greatest creation – my baby boy, who quickly became the center of my world. Juggling motherhood with my love for art was no easy task, but I never lost sight of my passion. In September 2023, I felt a surge of inspiration that sparked a series of artworks reflecting my emotions about missing home, the joys of motherhood, and the happiness of having a family.
4. What has been the most rewarding aspect of your art journey?
The journey itself. In my lifetime, I have encountered obstacles and victories that have greatly influenced my art. From moments of happiness and success to periods of sorrow and contemplation, every experience has shaped my work. Through my creations, I have discovered a means to process and convey my emotions, crafting a visual journal of my deepest thoughts and feelings.
5. What challenges have you faced as an artist, and how did you overcome them?
The aim is to push past my limitations, which I am encountering every step of the way. I have refined my skills to produce artworks that not only visually captivate but also provoke thought. Every brushstroke, every line, and every color choice is a deliberate act of defiance in a world where happiness and optimism are scarce. I reject conformity and opt to forge my unique path, one brimming with creativity, imagination, and limitless color. 6. How do you approach collaboration with other artists or creatives?
Collaboration has not been a regular part of my artistic process, but I actively engage in stimulating creative discussions with fellow artists. I am eager to exchange ideas and learn about different art perspectives, approaches, and forms of expression.
