Born in New York, Jennyfer discovered her passion for photography while exploring her father’s cameras. Her work has been showcased at prestigious institutions, including the Museum of the City of New York, NoMAA, and the Centro León Museum, as well as the Museum of Modern Art in the Dominican Republic. She has collaborated with notable magazines such as Hip Latina Magazine and Sutton Place Magazine, and volunteered with organizations like Me with Power, Girls Write Now, and Dr. Arturo Grullon Children's Hospital. During the pandemic, she created her project #fireescapism, transforming her fire escape into a whimsical retreat for others seeking an escape. Additionally, she founded @fotografasdominicanas, an essential community dedicated to promoting international Dominican womxn photographers. Today, she thrives as both a local and international photographer, using her lens to tell compelling stories that celebrate the diverse and rich experiences of women in her field.

As a photographer, my work is a heartfelt exploration of identity, memory, and the emotional landscapes we traverse. Growing up in New York, infused with the rich tapestry of my Dominican heritage, I seek to capture the intricate layers of experience that shape our understanding of place and belonging. My photography transcends mere documentation; it becomes a narrative invitation, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the stories woven into each image.

Through projects like #fireescapism, I transform ordinary spaces into whimsical escapes, crafting a dialogue between reality and imagination that evokes a sense of wonder. In these moments, I express complex emotions and fleeting memories that resonate deeply, fostering connections that linger in the heart.

In every frame, I strive to illuminate the nuances of human connection—whether it’s the tender bond between family members or the quiet reflections of individuals in their environments. My creation of #fotografasdominicanas serves as a testament to this vision, fostering a vibrant community for international Dominican women photographers, celebrating our collective voices and diverse narratives.

In essence, my photography acts as a bridge between past and present, urging audiences to reflect on their own journeys and the shared experiences that shape our collective humanity. Through this lens, I hope to evoke nostalgia and a profound appreciation for the beauty and fragility of life.
