Painting is a meditation for me. When in flow, it is only me, the paint, my brushes, and wood panels, paper, and linen canvases. When I get out of groove, I often switch mediums to challenge myself and often discovering fresh ideas along the way which reignite my creative fuel. I am ever evolving, but my hand is clear through out my work consistently embracing texture to add a third dimension to engage my art work. My style has been described as expressive impressionism with bold yet loose strokes with juicy texture capturing the energy through paint. The viewer is engaged as their eyes are gentle guided through out the harmonious composition; thus experiencing all aspects of my work. The forms are often suggested inviting the viewer to look further into the piece. I continue to explore the application of paint and its beauty using contrasting and complimentary evoking vibrancy and interest. My scope of work ranges from abstract to landscapes to still life and figure.
Multimedia metal leaf paper works collaged on panel have most recently been an exciting avenue to embrace as I have focused on historical architecture and nature as themes to explore. I find all creative practices inform each other and strengthen my practice as an artist.
