A place where Art and Design are without Borders

Details

Kirandeep Grewal is a multi-disciplinary community artist, art educator and mentor based in Australia. Her art practice is based upon a meditative approach to everyday life. It is a learning and sharing journey of her work which also encourages others to engage with art. Her paintings on silk, canvas and paper are a fusion of techniques.

Alongside her art practice, she is committed to involving and engaging
the community in arts through different projects. One of her current
projects - Maker's Workshop, a personal and home well-being initiative in
    collaboration with Multicultural Hub Canberra.
Kirandeep has exhibited her work nationally and internationally and collaborates with various organisations for community projects.
She is the founder of the Migrant Women's Art Group  and Creative at Slow Stitch Group.  In 2015, she facilitated for the Artist by the River Projects 7 and 8 in Perth, and her dedication to the project was recognized by the Rotary Club.

My travels have been instrumental in shaping my artistic expression. They have instilled in me a sense of humility, which is reflected in my works of art - each one a devotion to joy and happiness.

My art and design work is inspired by the ethos of ancient Indian art as expressed in Chitra Sutra. According to this Sutra, art is about meditation and harmonising our inner soul with the outer world and the cosmos. My paintings are less about what I see, and more about what I feel - my feelings about life, in its purity and vitality, in its colour, depth, and revitalising energy.
