My name is Mercie Marshall, and I am an acrylic painter based in Prescott, Arizona. I started my journey of learning to paint when I was 13 years old, but have only just recently taken my practice to new levels of exploration in finding my artistic voice. Figures and portraits have been my favorite subjects to paint, with my three children being the source of so much inspiration for my paintings. Besides people, my portfolio includes some landscapes, animals, and still life. It is my believe that artists can help remind society to refocus itself when it is lost in the chaos of everyday life. Bringing focus into the beauty of human life, the connections we can share with one another, and the hope that children bring to the world - that is what I hope to share through my artwork.
I have been a painter casually for the past 15 years, and I am finally ready to support myself in sharing my voice and my vision with the world. In my own personal journey of discovering my inner voice and embracing the creativity that has been stifled within myself by my own inner critic, I've discovered my passion for supporting other aspiring creatives in the journey of expression and free creation. My desire is to lead by example in sharing my own growth, struggles, breakthroughs, insight, and of course, my own creations. By creating freely and actively, artists and creators of all kinds can bring the world into an era of respecting the differences in one another, and finding the beauty in all forms of expression.
