Sculprural painting un-trapped by the canvas the wild thing within rises to be free.

Details

    • I have been working as an artist in Australia for the past 30 years since I graduated  from Wollongong University  with a double major in Ceramics and Painting. I have for the past 30 years been trying to mix both artforms and create a style which is my own.

Inspired by the fauna and flora of my homeland  Australia I create 3 dimensional  sculptural work that escapes the boundaries  of the canvas with passion  and humor. Inspired by a hard road traveled i connect to the fragile spirit of creatures i paint.

The pelican and gilah  are my totem or spirit animals. My grandmother was  a Bidjigal woman,  one of the stollen generation  and I feel a responsibility and connection to our land and wildlife.

I use a dot style within my backgrounds  as homage to my aboriginal heritage.

I am inspired by Australian native flora and fauna. The backgrounds of my paintings are aerial views of country.I create layers of depth and pattern within my work and I am inspired to create depth and movement.
