Stefanie Robinson is a multimodal artist working across dance, theatre, puppetry, visual arts and community engagement. Trained at John Bolton Theatre School and Victorian College of Arts in Animateuring/Dance, she has performed nationally and internationally with Polyglot Theatre and directed community projects in New Zealand, Australia and Japan.
As a community artist, she has created opening ceremonies for major festivals including Woodford Folk Festival and Taranaki International Arts Festival, managed the Lismore Lantern Parade for a decade, and led community recovery projects. Her large-scale outdoor work includes choreographing fire, flag and puppet sequences with Neil Cameron Productions and Burning Sensations.
Her visual arts practice encompasses gallery installations, ceramics, and sculpture. She received second place in the Kumeu Arts Awards for her sculptural work "Woven Landscapes." Now based in North West Auckland, Stefanie continues her visual arts practice while pursuing her passions for sourdough bread making and horse riding.
I craft experiences from large-scale community events to intimate installations, drawing inspiration from whenua (land), found materials, and our collective experiences. I'm driven to explore ways of connecting with and expressing the community, environment, and landscape that shape my world.
