A Glimpse of the Stunning Submissions Received So Far for Our Virtual Exhibition The Places We Call Home

The Women in Arts Network is delighted to share the continued wave of creativity flowing into our International Virtual Exhibition: The Places We Call Home. From studios, living rooms, and kitchen tables across the globe, women-identifying and non-binary artists are sending in works that expand and deepen this beautiful conversation about what “home” truly means.

Each new submission adds its own texture turning this exhibition into a layered, living archive of memories, places, and emotions. Together, they form a collective portrait of belonging that transcends geography.

Understanding the Theme: “The Places We Call Home”

“Home” is not one fixed idea, it looks and feels different for everyone. For some, it’s a physical space: a room filled with laughter, a kitchen where generations have cooked, or a street that shaped their childhood.

For others, home isn’t tied to bricks or land. It can be:

  • The comfort of a loved one’s voice
  • The scent of rain on warm earth
  • A memory that brings both joy and longing

Through this exhibition, artists are invited to explore and share their own interpretation of home—whether it’s a place, a feeling, or a story. This is a chance to create something that sparks memory, invites reflection, and helps others think about their own meaning of “home.”
