The Places We Call Home

Virtual Exhibition + Artist Book

“The Places We Call Home” is the latest edition in the Artist Book + Virtual Exhibition series by Women in Arts Network. This monthly project continues to highlight emerging artists from across the globe, offering them a beautifully designed platform to share their stories through thoughtfully immersive online showcases.

Each edition explores a distinct theme that encourages dialogue and reflection. The Places We Call Home invites artists to dig deep into the idea of belonging,  exploring how memories, people, and places shape who we are and how we connect to the world around us.

Through a diverse range of media, including painting, photography, sculpture, and digital art, this edition unravels the meaning of “home” as both a physical and emotional landscape. It captures the beauty and complexity of finding comfort, identity, and grounding in spaces that hold personal significance.

At its core, The Places We Call Home reflects Women in Arts Network’s mission to amplify creative voices and foster meaningful conversations through art. This exhibition reminds us that home is not always a fixed location, sometimes, it’s the stories we carry and the connections we create along the way

Exhibition Note

The Places We Call Home is a reflection on belonging, memory, and the spaces that shape who we are. This exhibition gathers artists from around the world to explore what “home” means in its many forms: a physical space, a fleeting moment, or an emotional landscape carried within.

Each artwork in this collection opens a window into a personal connection with place. Some capture the warmth of familiarity, others the ache of distance or change. Together, they form a tapestry of experiences that speak to how humans root themselves in the world, even when the ground beneath them shifts.

Through painting, installation, photography, and mixed media, these artists transform ordinary spaces into vessels of identity and meaning. They invite us to see how memory and imagination can turn any corner, object, or moment into a kind of home.

The Places We Call Home reminds us that home isn’t always a destination, sometimes, it’s a feeling, a rhythm, or a story we return to again and again. It invites you to pause, remember, and reconnect with the places,  real or imagined, that continue to live within you
