Artist Bio

Olga Burkard is a Swiss–Mexican artist whose work seeks to reawaken our connection with life—in nature, in organic forms, and in the bonds we share with one another. Born and raised in Mexico and now based in Geneva, she explores the dialogue between opposites: geometric and organic, intuition and structure, clarity and warmth.

Her art lives between pixels and paint, both made by hand with different tools. This union reflects the harmony found in contrast and the beauty of connection itself—a visual language that mirrors the interdependence present in all living systems.

Burkard studied graphic design at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and completed postgraduate studies at the Schule für Gestaltung Basel. After a long international career in design and art direction, she has worked full-time as an artist since 2024. Her work is represented by Mabe Gallery (Geneva) and EDNA Contemporary (San Luis Obispo, California), and is held in private collections in more than ten countries.

Artist Statement

My practice explores our connection with life, reflected in nature, organic forms, and the bonds we share.

It is a meeting place of contrasts: geometric and organic, intuition and structure, clarity and warmth. This dialogue mirrors my story—Swiss and Mexican roots, the daughter of a tailor and a scientist, shaped by design studies in Mexico City and Basel.

Working between pixels and paint, I explore how connections become life—how simple forms repeat, shift, and grow into living structures. Through this process, I seek to create images that feel alive and invite reflection on our place within a larger rhythm of existence.

Pixels & Paint

My work bridges the digital and the physical, exploring how connection transforms contrast into coexistence—like an ecosystem where every element depends on another. All works are hybrid compositions combining hand-drawn digital and painted elements. Each piece is digitally assembled and produced as a fine art pigment print on paper, created as a single edition with one artist proof, available in two sizes.
