Don’t let the final week pass without giving your artwork a chance to be seen!

Why Virtual Exhibitions Are So Important At Women in Arts Network

At Women in Arts Network, virtual exhibitions are at the heart of what we do. We believe that women artists deserve more opportunities to share their work, reach new audiences, and become part of a creative community that celebrates their voices. Through our online exhibitions, we aim to make these opportunities more accessible, welcoming artists from different countries, backgrounds, and stages of their creative journeys.

For many artists, participating in a traditional gallery exhibition can come with geographical, financial, and logistical challenges. Virtual exhibitions help make the experience more accessible by allowing artists to showcase their work in an international online space without the need to travel or be physically present at a gallery.

But for us, it goes beyond accessibility.

Over the years, Women in Arts Network has brought together more than 800 women artists through 15+ virtual exhibitions. Each exhibition has given us an opportunity to discover new talent, introduce audiences to different artistic practices, and create connections between artists who may otherwise never have crossed paths. We have seen how a shared exhibition space can bring together entirely different perspectives, experiences, and creative voices.

We also understand that visibility matters, particularly for emerging artists who are still finding their place in the art world. Having work featured in a curated exhibition can become a meaningful addition to an artist’s portfolio, provide material for their professional journey, and open doors to future opportunities.

This is why we continue to create themed exhibitions that invite artists to explore new ideas, experiment with their practices, and share the stories behind their work. We want Women in Arts Network to be a place where artists feel encouraged to participate, discover one another, and celebrate what makes their creative journeys unique.

With Cats, Dogs & Stories, we are excited to bring another wonderful collection of artistic voices together. And we hope you will be part of it!

1 Week To Go: Have You Prepared Your Submission?

cats dogs & stories

Some of our most meaningful creative inspirations come from the little things around us. A cat curled up beside us while we work, a dog greeting us at the door, a childhood memory of a pet, or the unforgettable personality of an animal we once knew. These everyday connections can hold wonderful stories, and art gives us a way to preserve and share them.

With Cats, Dogs & Stories, we want to celebrate the many ways animals become part of our lives and creative practices. This exhibition is not limited to traditional pet portraits. We welcome personal interpretations, imaginative compositions, playful illustrations, expressive paintings, photographs, and artworks that explore the emotional connections we share with animals.

Perhaps your work captures the comfort of companionship. Perhaps it explores the character and personality of a particular animal, or reflects on a memory that has stayed with you. Whatever direction your creativity takes, we encourage you to bring your own perspective to the theme.

An Opportunity To Share Your Art With The World

At Women in Arts Network, we believe that every artist deserves opportunities to share their creative voice and reach new audiences. Through our virtual exhibitions, we have brought together more than 800 women artists across 15+ exhibitions, creating spaces where different artistic practices, experiences, and perspectives can be celebrated.

Cats, Dogs & Stories continues this journey by inviting artists to become part of an international online exhibition. Selected artists will have their work presented in a curated virtual gallery, with professional artwork credits and opportunities for promotion across our digital platforms. They will also receive a digital certificate of participation and an exhibition credit that can be added to their portfolio, website, and artistic CV.

Artists interested in sharing more about their creative journeys can also opt for the Artist Interview Feature, offering an additional opportunity to talk about their inspirations, artistic processes, and the stories behind their work.

Whether this is your first exhibition or another exciting addition to your artistic journey, we would love to welcome you.

Who Can Apply?

There is still time to put together your application! We welcome women and non-binary artists aged 18 and above from anywhere in the world.

You do not need an extensive exhibition history or years of professional experience to participate. Emerging artists, recent art graduates, independent creatives, and established practitioners are all encouraged to submit.

We welcome a diverse range of visual art practices, including:

  • Painting and drawing
  • Photography and illustration
  • Sculpture and ceramics
  • Printmaking and collage
  • Digital art and mixed media
  • Textile art
  • Video art and installation

Your interpretation can be realistic, abstract, figurative, conceptual, expressive, humorous, or imaginative. The most important thing is that your submission is original and meaningfully connected to the Cats, Dogs & Stories theme.

Your Final Submission Checklist

With only seven days remaining, now is the perfect time to select your artwork and complete your application.

Here are a few things to prepare before submitting:

  • Select your artwork: You can submit up to three original artworks that respond to the exhibition theme.
  • Prepare your images: Artwork images must be in JPG or PNG format, with each file under 5 MB.
  • Gather your artwork details: Keep your artwork titles, mediums, dimensions, and years of creation ready.

November 9 Is The Final Deadline. Don’t Miss Out!

We know how easy it can be to put an application aside while waiting for the right moment, choosing the perfect artwork, or finding time to complete all the details. But the final week is here, and this is a lovely opportunity to finally share the work you have been holding on to. If Cats, Dogs & Stories has been on your mind, consider this your final reminder to take that next step and get your submission ready!

If you have a painting, photograph, illustration, sculpture, or another creative interpretation inspired by cats and dogs, we would love to discover it. Perhaps your artwork tells the story of a much-loved companion, captures the little moments that make life with animals so special, or explores the subject through an entirely unexpected artistic perspective. Whatever your approach, we encourage you to share it with us.

By submitting, you will have the opportunity to become part of an international collection of artists, each bringing their own experiences, imagination, and creative voice to a shared theme. We are looking forward to discovering the different ways artists interpret the relationship between humans and animals, and seeing how these stories come together in our virtual gallery.

The submission deadline is November 9, 2026. Make sure you complete your application before the closing date, as we won’t be accepting late submissions once the call closes.

Don’t let this opportunity slip by! We would love to welcome you to Cats, Dogs & Stories, a juried virtual exhibition celebrating the animals, memories, and connections that inspire us.
