Perhaps it’s a stranger in the street, caught in a fleeting expression; a loved one lost in thought; or even your own reflection on a day that feels heavy, fleeting, or strangely out of step. Faces speak in a language older than words they carry histories, memories, and secrets that reach us long before we have the tools to describe them. They invite connection, reflection, and empathy, often before we even realize we’ve been drawn in.
This exhibition grew from that very curiosity: What happens when artists approach the face not as a static object to depict, but as a living, breathing presence to explore, honor, and understand?
The moment submissions started arriving, it was clear that something extraordinary was happening. Artists weren’t just portraying faces they were revealing inner lives. These works feel less like traditional portraits and more like intimate encounters. Some faces confront you, daring you to meet their gaze; others shimmer with quiet vulnerability, holding private stories, ancestral memory, or cultural history. We’ve seen explorations of identity, self-discovery, transformation, grief, joy, and resilience. Each piece has a heartbeat, a rhythm of its own, and together they form a mosaic of human experience so alive, so honest, it’s impossible not to feel moved.
The Response Has Been Incredible
The energy of this call has been overwhelming in the best way. Artists from around the world have shared faces that pulse with life, identity, imagination, and vulnerability. Every submission carries a heartbeat. Some stare boldly; others whisper quietly, holding private histories or cultural nuance. We’ve witnessed stories of ancestry, identity, transformation, and reinvention. Every face is a story finally finding form.
And there’s more good news: Because of this incredible response, the submission deadline has been extended to December 30th! This is your chance. The door is still open, but only just. If you’ve been hesitating, waiting for the “right moment,” that moment is now. Everyday counts. Don’t let your story, your perspective, or your art be left out of this extraordinary global conversation.

Who Can Submit
This exhibition is open to women-identifying and non-binary artists worldwide, ages 18 and above. All mediums are welcome painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, digital art, textiles, mixed media, and more. Whether you’re just starting or already established, your perspective matters. Every submission adds depth and energy to this global conversation about the human face, and every story deserves to be heard.
How to Submit
Submitting is simple, but the clock is ticking:
- Visit the submission page on the Women in Arts Network website.
- Share your name, email, and a short artist introduction.
- Upload a professional portrait (no selfies).
- Submit 1–3 artworks with details: title, size, medium, and year.
- Optionally, join our artist interview to share your story.
