I am Elena, an Italian artist based in Praia, Cape Verde, West Africa.
I am full time mom, I am a graduated architect and a (critical) PhD doctor in urban studies.
Only recently, I chose to embrace all the parts of myself by freeing my artistic soul and let it guide me.
My art is intimate and reflects my perspective of the world, it is impulsive and additive.
My roots and the life path I am constructing and choosing are both on my canvas.
Paint out the inside world with no judgement and no fear but curiosity and color.
I paint images and visions that live in my mind and I try to put them on canvas, but the artistic process leads me to new and unexpected results that I choose from time to time.
My paintings are inspired by my life in a tropical island in the middle of the Atlantic ocean and by the love of my little and new family.
I express the complexity of my inner world and the emotional experience as a mother, woman, lover, artist in this world by using colorful images, curve shapes and abstract figures.
