Some opportunities stay with us long after the deadline has passed. Not simply because they offered a chance to be published, but because they marked the beginning of something meaningful. At Women in Arts Network, we are approaching one of those moments, and we would love for you to be part of it.
There are now just 10 days left to submit your work to Women in Arts Magazine: Issue 01, our very first print magazine. On October 31, 2026, submissions will close, and a new chapter in our journey of celebrating women artists will begin to take shape.
For years, we have watched women artists share their work through our virtual exhibitions, tell their stories, and find new ways to connect with a community that understands the courage and commitment behind making art. Now, we are bringing that community into print. Something you can hold in your hands, turn the pages of, keep on your bookshelf, and return to years from now.
And for this first issue, we are looking for fifty women artists from around the world to help us tell that story. If you have been thinking about submitting, consider this your gentle reminder. There is still time to choose the work that means something to you, prepare your application, and take a chance on being part of our very first edition.

Every magazine has a first issue. It is where everything begins, where the first stories find their place, and where the character of a publication starts to emerge. But there is something particularly special about launching a print magazine built around women artists and the many different ways they experience, interpret, and make sense of the world.
Women in Arts Network has always been about creating spaces where women artists can share their work, discover one another, and feel that their creative voices belong. Our first print magazine is a natural next step in that journey, allowing us to bring those voices together in a form that can be kept, shared, and revisited.
We imagine these pages bringing together artists who may live thousands of miles apart, work in completely different mediums, and approach their practices from entirely different perspectives. One artist might be exploring memory through painting, another might be telling stories through textiles, while someone else might be finding her voice through photography, sculpture, or digital art.
Their work will not need to look alike. What matters is the individuality each artist brings to her practice. We are inviting fifty artists to become part of this beginning, and we hope Issue 01 will be the first of many editions to come. One day, we would love to look back at this inaugural issue and remember the artists who helped us take that first step.
Your work can be among the pages that begin this story.

The selection for Women in Arts Magazine, Issue 01, will be led by Charuka Arora, Founder of Arts to Hearts Project and Women in Arts Network.
An internationally exhibited Indian visual artist, designer, and creative entrepreneur, Charuka has spent years building spaces that help artists share their work, connect with wider audiences, and find meaningful opportunities within the art world.
Her own artistic practice combines painting and handcrafted collage with pearl, bead, and textile embellishment, exploring themes of womanhood, adornment, and cultural memory. Her work has been exhibited at The Other Art Fair in Los Angeles and London, as well as Woman Made Gallery in Chicago, and featured in publications including Create! Magazine.
Through Arts to Hearts Project, she has also developed an independent publishing platform and creative community dedicated to contemporary artists, with a particular focus on women. Her experience as an artist, publisher, and advocate for creative voices brings an important perspective to this inaugural issue. Every eligible submission will be reviewed through a selection process that considers the quality of the work, the individuality of the artist’s voice, the coherence of the submitted pieces, and the quality of their presentation.
Your career stage, gallery representation, and social media following will not determine your selection. You do not need an established exhibition history to apply. The work itself is at the centre of the process. We are excited to see the different practices, ideas, and perspectives that will come together under her guidance.
The open call welcomes women artists aged 18 and above from anywhere in the world. Women-identifying and non-binary artists are also eligible to apply, and artists at every stage of their careers are encouraged to participate.
Whether you are a student, a self-taught artist, an emerging creative finding your direction, or an established artist with years of experience, there is room for your work to be considered.
The theme is completely open, and all visual art mediums are welcome, including:
Artists working with video, performance, or installation may submit high-quality documentation images or video stills. Work created using digital tools, including AI, is also accepted when the artist’s own creative authorship is central to the work. You may submit up to three artworks that best represent your current practice. Previously exhibited, published, or shared work is welcome, provided it is your original work and you hold the necessary rights to submit it.
There is no particular style you need to follow, no prescribed subject to interpret, and no expectation that your work must fit into a particular aesthetic. We want to see what you are making and thinking about right now.

Being part of a magazine is about more than seeing your artwork reproduced on a printed page. It is about having your practice documented, making your work discoverable, and becoming part of a publication that celebrates the contributions of women artists.
Fifty artists will be selected for Issue 01, and every selected artist will receive the same contributor package.
Your selected artwork or artworks will be reproduced in Women in Arts Magazine, Issue 01, alongside your artist biography and artist statement. Each work will be credited with its title, year, medium, and dimensions.
Your contribution will become part of a physical publication you can keep, share, and include in your artistic journey.
Every selected artist will be included in the magazine’s index, listing her name, country, medium, website, and Instagram. This gives readers another way to discover your work and find their way to your wider practice.
Your work will receive a dedicated feature on Women in Arts Network’s Instagram through a video feature and an editorial post, with your work credited and your account tagged.
Your work will also be introduced to the Women in Arts Network email community through a newsletter feature, creating another opportunity for people to discover your artistic practice.
Being published in Women in Arts Magazine, Issue 01, gives you a citable publication credit that you can include on your CV, website, portfolio, artist biography, and future applications.
And because this is the inaugural issue, that credit will always mark your place in the beginning of the magazine’s story.
All fifty selected artists will automatically be considered for the Women in Arts Magazine Award. One artist will receive a $500 cash award, a four-page spread in Issue 01, and a published interview.
There is no separate application or additional fee for award consideration. The award is an additional opportunity within the issue, while every selected artist receives the same contributor package.
There are no publication fees after selection. Selected artists will also have the option to order printed copies of the magazine at a contributor rate.

With just two weeks remaining, this is a good time to gather your work and prepare your submission. You do not need to create something new specifically for the magazine. Instead, choose the artworks that best reflect your practice and the ideas you are exploring.
Here is what you need to prepare:
1. Select up to three artworks. Choose pieces that represent your practice well, whether they belong to a related series or offer different perspectives on your work.
2. Prepare your images. Each artwork should be submitted as a JPEG, no larger than 5 MB, with at least 3,000 pixels on its longest side. Images should be clear, unfiltered, and suitable for print. Use even lighting and photograph the work straight on wherever possible.
3. Gather your artwork details. You will need each work’s title, year, medium, and dimensions.
4. Write your biography and artist statement. Prepare a third-person artist biography of up to 100 words and a first-person artist statement of up to 150 words. You will also be asked for your city and country of residence, along with your website and/or Instagram link.
5. Complete your application online. Visit the submission page, review the full guidelines, and submit your application with the required information and images.
The submission fee is $35 USD, covering up to three artworks. This fee is non-refundable, and there are no additional publication fees if you are selected. Please review all the requirements before submitting.
The deadline is October 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. New York time. Results will be announced in November 2026.
We know that submitting your work can feel like a big step. Sometimes, it means choosing a piece you have spent months creating. Sometimes, it means sharing something personal. And sometimes, it simply means allowing your work to be seen in a space you have never been part of before.
If you have been waiting until your practice feels more established, your portfolio feels more complete, or the timing feels just right, we hope you will consider taking that step now. You do not need to have everything figured out to put your work forward. You only need to choose the pieces you believe in, tell us a little about your practice, and give your work the opportunity to be considered.
Our first print magazine is a beginning we have been looking forward to sharing with you. We hope it will grow into a publication that continues to bring women artists together, celebrate different creative voices, and create opportunities for artists to discover one another through the pages of a magazine.
And when we look back on Issue 01 in the years to come, we hope to remember it not only as the first edition, but as the beginning of a community of artists who helped make it what it is. There are only ten days left to submit. Fifty women artists. One first issue. A story that is only just beginning. If you would like your work to be considered, we would love to receive your submission before October 31.
