Some opportunities deserve a little extra attention, especially when they mark the beginning of something new. If you have been thinking about submitting your work to Women in Arts Magazine, consider this your final reminder. There are only three days left to submit your work to Issue 01, the very first print magazine from Women in Arts Network.
On October 31, 2026, submissions will close, and we will take one step closer to bringing fifty women artists from around the world together in a publication made to celebrate their work, stories, and creative voices.
For years, we have watched women artists share their work through our community, connect through virtual exhibitions, and find new ways to introduce their practices to the world. Now, we are taking that connection into print. Something you can hold in your hands, keep on your bookshelf, share with others, and return to long after the moment has passed.
And for our first issue, we want you to be part of it. If you have been waiting for the right time to submit, this is it. Choose the work that feels closest to your practice, tell us a little about what you do, and give your art the opportunity to become part of our first edition.

Art magazines have always been about more than putting beautiful images on a page. They give artists a place to be discovered, share the ideas behind their work, and become part of conversations happening across the art world. For readers, they offer a chance to encounter new artists, explore different creative practices, and see how people from different backgrounds interpret the world around them.
Publications such as Juxtapoz have spent decades bringing contemporary art, illustration, and alternative creative practices to wider audiences. Platforms like Arts to Hearts Project have also built a space for artists to share their stories, connect with a wider creative community, and see their work celebrated through books, features, and conversations.
These publications remind us that artists need spaces where their work can live beyond the studio and the social media feed. A magazine feature can become a meaningful part of an artist’s portfolio, a publication credit to include in future applications, or simply a tangible reminder of a moment in their creative journey.
There is something special about print, too. In a world where we scroll past hundreds of images every day, a printed magazine invites us to slow down. We can spend time with an artwork, read the story behind it, discover the person who made it, and return to that page whenever we want. And perhaps most importantly, magazines bring artists together. Their pages can hold different perspectives, mediums, cultures, and experiences side by side, creating a collection that feels richer because no two artists see the world in quite the same way.
That is the spirit we want to bring to Women in Arts Magazine. We want to create a publication that celebrates women artists not just as individual creators, but as part of a wider community whose stories deserve to be seen, shared, and remembered.

The first issue of any publication holds a special place in its story. It is where the ideas begin to take shape, where the first contributors become part of its history, and where the foundation for everything that follows is built.
For Women in Arts Network, this magazine is a natural next step in our journey of creating spaces for women artists. We have spent years bringing artists together through virtual exhibitions and online opportunities. Now, we are excited to create something physical that reflects the creativity, diversity, and generosity of this community.
We are inviting fifty women artists to become part of Issue 01, and the theme is completely open. We want to see the work that best represents your practice right now. It could be a painting you have spent months refining, a photograph that holds a particular memory, a sculpture that challenged you to try something new, or a series that captures the ideas you keep returning to.
Your work does not need to fit a particular aesthetic or follow a specific subject. We want to see the different ways women artists create, think, experiment, and tell their stories.
And this is only the beginning. We hope this first edition will be followed by many more magazines, each bringing together new voices, fresh perspectives, and artists whose work deserves a place in print. We want to build something that grows with our community, and we would love for you to be part of the very first step.
Years from now, when we look back at Issue 01, we want to remember the artists who helped make it possible. We want you to be among the women who gave our first magazine its character, its stories, and its heart.
Every selected artist will have their work featured in the printed magazine alongside her artist biography and statement. The artworks will be credited with their title, year, medium, and dimensions, and each artist will also be included in the magazine’s Index of Artists, with her country, medium, website, and Instagram details.
The opportunity extends beyond the printed pages, too. Every selected artist will receive:
One artist will receive the $500 Women in Arts Magazine Award, along with a four-page spread and a published interview in the issue. All fifty selected artists will receive the same contributor package, with the award offering an additional opportunity for one artist.
There are no additional publication fees after selection. Selected artists will also have the option to order printed copies at a contributor rate.

The inaugural issue will be juried by Charuka Arora, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Arts to Hearts Project and Founder of Women in Arts Network.
Through her work as an artist, publisher, and community builder, Charuka has consistently created opportunities for artists to share their practices and connect with wider audiences. Arts to Hearts Project has developed a growing body of artist-focused publications and creative initiatives, helping artists tell their stories and become part of a broader conversation around contemporary art.
For Issue 01, every eligible submission will be reviewed through a three-round selection process. The juror will consider the quality of the work, the distinctiveness of the artist’s voice, the coherence of the submitted pieces, and the quality of the images. Your career stage, gallery representation, and social media following will not determine your selection.
Whether you are an emerging artist submitting to a print magazine for the first time or an established artist with years of experience, your work will be considered on its own merits.
The open call welcomes women artists aged 18 and above from anywhere in the world, including women-identifying and non-binary artists. Artists at every career stage are encouraged to apply, whether formally trained, self-taught, emerging, mid-career, or established.
All visual mediums are welcome, including painting, drawing, illustration, printmaking, collage, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, textile and fibre, photography, digital art, installation, and conceptual practice.
You can submit up to three artworks that best represent your current practice. Previously exhibited, published, or shared work is welcome, provided it is your original work and you hold the rights to it.
If you are planning to submit, now is the time to gather everything you need. You do not have to create something new specifically for the magazine. Instead, choose the works you feel best represent where you are as an artist.
Before completing your application, prepare the following:
The submission fee is $35 USD and covers up to three artworks. It is non-refundable, so please review the guidelines carefully before submitting. There are no additional fees if your work is selected for publication.
Deadline: October 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. New York time.
Results will be announced in November 2026, and all applicants will be notified by email.

We know that putting your work forward can feel like a big step. Choosing which artworks to share is not always easy, especially when each piece holds a different memory, experiment, or part of your journey. Sometimes, it can be tempting to wait until your portfolio feels more complete or your practice feels more established.
But you do not need to have everything figured out to take the next step. You can begin with the work you believe in today.
At Women in Arts Network, we see this magazine as an opportunity to bring our community into a new space. We want to see fifty artists with different stories, different approaches, and different ways of making sense of the world. We want these pages to introduce artists to one another, inspire readers to explore unfamiliar practices, and give women artists something meaningful to look back on.
This is our first step into print, but we hope it will lead to a long journey ahead, with many more magazines, more artists to discover, and more stories to tell. We have so much we want to build, and we cannot imagine a better way to begin than by inviting the women who have made this community what it is to be part of it.
We want you to help us make our first magazine a special one.
If you have been considering submitting, let these final three days be your reminder. Choose the work that feels like you, share your story, and take the chance to become part of something that is just getting started.
Fifty women artists. One first issue. And a journey we hope to continue for years to come.
We would love to see your work among the pages of Women in Arts Magazine: Issue 01.
